Funded by the Victorian Government this state-wide program provides care and support through flexible respite and support services through a range of contracted providers.
The program is focused on:
Providing short-term or one-off support for carers including goods and equipment, that can add to other services or fill service gaps.
Supporting people’s wellbeing – including quality of life, physical and mental wellbeing, social activity or social connections.
Support services can take many forms, such as one-on-one support, respite for carers or development of and sustaining carer support groups.
As an example Pathways for Carers groups meet monthly for a walk through nature and refreshments in a local café. Local service providers, council staff and guest walkers join in to answer questions and share information with carers.
For full details see the Victorian State Government Support for Carers Program which includes details of all providers in the program.
